HTC: All new flagship devices will receive ‘major Android updates for 2 years after their release date’

A couple members of HTC’s product team took to Reddit yesterday for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) and admitted that they “don’t have a perfect track record” when it comes to updating flagship devices with the latest Android OS, but did say they are making progress. The company recently created an upgrade schedule where users of various devices can check to see if and when their HTC Android will be updated.

Looking into the future, HTC made a “commitment to support all new North America flagship devices going forward with all major Android updates for 2 years after their release date.” This is certainly good news to future HTC owners and hopefully more clarification comes as to specifically what HTC considers a ‘flagship’ device.
