Sony announced today that its entry-level Xperia M2 will be hitting Canadian shelves this month and heading straight for Rogers and Fido. As for specs, the M2 is an solid upgrade from its successor the Xperia M and sports a 4.8-inch 960×540 (qHD) pixel display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 2,300mAh battery, LTE connectivity and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
There is no word on a specific launch date or price point, but one would expect it to be competitively priced with the Moto G around $200 no-term.

Update: For those interested in scoring the Xperia M2, we’ve received an internal doc that shows the pricing for Rogers to be $300 on a month-to-month/no-term, or $0 on a 2-year contract. This will be available in the coming days. Fido pricing will be similar.
