It’s good to see that WhatsApp’s impending $16 billion acquisition by Facebook hasn’t slowed the company’s release cadence any. A new version has dropped for BlackBerry 10 smartphones containing several bug fixes and performance improvements to further Zuck’s mandate of growth before monetization.
The most significant improvement is a new in-app media browser to make it easy to swipe through all those cat photos sent by friends. WhatsApp has also spent some time in this version improving face proximity detection during voice message playback (which was, admittedly, pretty bad) as well app performance when opening chats from the BlackBerry 10 Hub.
The new version of WhatsApp should be available today at the source link below.
