Uber providing new users up to $30 in free rides so Torontonians can more easily vote

Uber

Here’s a good cause for an important event. Tomorrow, Ontario residents vote on their next Premier, though statistically less than half of the province’s population will make the effort to do so.

In order to spur voter turnout, Uber is offering up to $30 in rider incentives — $15 each way — so Torontonians can more easily head to the polls. Unfortunately, the offer is limited to new accounts, but existing Uber users still get a $5 credit each way.

The offer is valid tomorrow, June 12th, between 8:30am and 9:30pm, so take advantage.

Uber has done promotions like this before, but never in the name of the public good — unless boats and ice cream constitute adding to the public good (they do).

Uber is available for Android and iOS.
