Bloomberg: Apple’s new iPhones will have ‘bigger screens with curved glass and enhanced sensors’

According to “people familiar with the plans,” Apple is set to begin production of two new iPhone models next month. Bloomberg is reporting the same news that has been floating around the web for months: Apple will come to market with 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch iPhones. The sources didn’t want to be named and Apple declined to comment on the rumour.

The new iPhone designs are expected to have rounded corners with thinner bodies than previous models. Bloomberg is also going on record that “Apple is developing new iPhone designs including bigger screens with curved glass and enhanced sensors that can detect different levels of pressure… Called 2.5-dimension glass, the material lets manufacturers taper the edges of the screen where the bezel meets the frame of smartphone.” Apple recently unveiled iOS 8 with its integrated Health platform.

Earlier reports indicated that the 4.7-inch iPhone would be announced first, then the 5.5-inch iPhone would debut a few months later. However, Bloomberg suggests that both new iPhones will be unveiled at the same time, possibly as early as September.
