Moto 360 rumoured to have Moto Maker customization at launch

Motorola’s Moto 360 will be available sometime later this summer. This Android Wear-powered smartwatch was shown off at Google I/O last week and its circular design makes it one of the nicest on the block. Missing from the excitement are the official specs. Motorola is holding back on providing any details until they launch it in a few weeks.

According to a report in PhoneArena, Motorola will bring some additional uniqueness to the smartwatch category. Apparently, Motorola will release the upgraded Moto X+1 and the Moto 360 at the same time. This makes sense from a marketing perspective and is similar to what Samsung did with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear.

However, something that might set Motorola apart from others in the Android Wear smartwatch race is the option of customization. The report indicates that Motorola will bring its Moto Maker feature to the Moto 360 and give customers the ability to create their own watch. Unfortunately there is no word on specifically what Motorola has in mind – will it be the wrist bands, pins, or the actual metal watch face?

Hopefully, when/if this becomes reality Motorola Canada will make this available to us. In the meantime, check out our hands-on of the Moto 360 here.
