Motorola reveals Moto 360 design insights, new watch band options

Moto 360

Moto 360, Motorola’s first Android Wear smartwatch, will go on sale later this summer. While the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are already available, Motorola has reminded the masses that its circular shaped watch “is a self expression of your wrist.” Lior Ron, product manager for the Moto 360, explained in a one-minute video the smartwatch’s design process and how the company wants the user to “interact in a simple and super intuitive way.”

Ron stated that there is something very “magical” about the round shape, a classical and comfortable throwback with a “sizeable display that shows a lot of information.”

Probably the most revealing fact was the various watch straps that appear in the video. Previous reports indicated that the 360 will have possible Moto Maker customization of the wrist bands and pins. The video shows black and silver pins, and watch straps in rubber (black, white, grey), leather and metal.
