Moto G heavily discounted prior to Moto G2 launch

The successor to the widely popular Moto G is upon us. Motorola is on deck to unveil the Moto G2 on September 4th. This new budget-friendly Android will come with a bigger display and a minor boost in specs, but offer a similar low price to its predecessor.

If you’re looking for a entry-level smartphone, the Moto G is a solid choice. Several Canadian carriers currently have the 8GB Moto G in their lineup — Koodo, TELUS, Virgin — for about $150 to $200 no-term. Big box retailers Future Shop and Best Buy have discounted the TELUS Moto G by 15%, or $22, for the ripe price of $127.99. Both locations are sold out online, but have in-store availability.

In May, Motorola said the 4.5-inch Moto G was the best-selling smartphone in its history, with over 150,000 units sold in Canada.

Update: As noted by jerry man in the comments, London Drugs beats the low-cost $128 above and are selling the Moto G for $120 no term.
