Google Play Books now offering Canadian students digital textbooks on mobile

Google is coming to the rescue of those Canadian students heading back to school. Google encourages all students to “ditch the backpack” and download relevant textbooks to a mobile device or laptop from Google Play Books. The texts range in topics in both English and French, and can either be rented or purchased with a savings of up to 80% over the cover print price.

Google notes that, “You can instantly search within a textbook for a particular word or phrase, bookmark chapters and pages, highlight and annotate key passages and get quick access to dictionaries, translation tools, Wikipedia and Google search.”
