TELUS and Syniverse partner to offer customers travelling to U.S. added security while making credit card payments

TELUS recently revamped its United States roaming packages, and a new partnership with Syniverse and MasterCard aims to bring “even more peace of mind” to customers making credit card purchases south of the border.

Apparently, “80 percent of the payment transactions that are declined while people travel abroad are actually legitimate,” and this technology will assist TELUS’ 8 million wireless subs in shopping with confidence while travelling. The Syniverse Mobile Intelligence Portal optimizes for “mobile context,” which acts as another level of security to ensure your mobile device is at the same location as the credit card transaction.

Brent Johnston, TELUS’ SVP of Consumer Marketing, said, “working with Syniverse and MasterCard, TELUS will offer customers a whole new level of protection and peace of mind while on-the-go. Our work with Syniverse combined with TELUS travel passes and roaming notifications give customers the confidence to use their payment cards and mobile services anywhere they travel.”
