Apple expected to unveil its first wearable product at iPhone event on September 9th

Apple has been rumoured to unveil the first of its new 2014 product line on September 9th. While we’re expecting to see two new iPhones — 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches in screen size — we might also see the company’s first foray into wearable devices.

John Paczkowski of Re/Code, the man who originally revealed the September 9th date, has gone on record that Apple will show off a new wearable at the same event. The report indicated that “Apple now plans to unveil a new wearable alongside the two next-generation iPhones we told you the company will debut on September 9th… The new device will, predictably, make good use of Apple’s HealthKit health and fitness platform. It will also — predictably — make good use of HomeKit, the company’s new framework for controlling connected devices.”

Neither the wearable device’s specs nor design are known, but reports have indicated that what the media is calling  ‘iWatch’ will sport a 2.5-inch touchscreen and have wireless charging capabilities.
