Facebook is first non-Google app to hit 1 billion Play Store Downloads

Facebook mobile

Facebook started out as an exclusive service only available to students attending certain schools but it quickly grew beyond its insiders-only concept. It’s now home to more than a billion users, and businesses, bands, and celebrities use it for marketing, too.

Fitting then, that Facebook should be the first non-Google application to surpass one billion downloads on the Play Store. Other apps to hit this milestone are Google Play, Gmail, Maps, and YouTube.
