Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs LG G3 in photos

We brought an LG G3 with us to New York to see how it fares to Samsung’s newest flagship, the Galaxy Note 4. While LG’s device is considerably shorter and narrower than the Note 4, it also has a larger 5.7-inch display over the LG’s 5.5-incher.

Both devices sport 2560×1440 pixel QHD displays, but LG’s is an IPS (in-plane switching) panel with a full RGB stripe, whereas Samsung’s is a Super AMOLED panel that we suspect uses the diamond pixel array that debuted in the Note 3.

The Galaxy Note 4 has a more powerful Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM compared to the G3’s Snapdragon 801 and 2GB, respectively. Both offer 32GB of internal storage and microSD cards.

The Note 4 sports a 16MP rear camera with OIS, while the G3 sports a 13MP rear shooter with OIS. Both take 4K video.

Both devices run Android 4.4 KitKat, but at launch the Note 4 has a newer version, Android 4.4.4, compared to the G3’s Android 4.4.2.

The Note 4 has a 3,220mAh battery while the G3 has a 3,000mAh cell. Both are removable.

LG G3: 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm, 146 grams

Galaxy Note 4: 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm, 176g
