SwiftKey Keyboard for iOS 8 will launch with support for Canadian English and French

San Francisco is a busy town this week. Between Apple’s iPhone event and IDF, it’s easy to forget that TechCrunch Disrupt is also going on at the same time. However, it was at Disrupt that SwiftKey showed off details of its new SwiftKey Keyboard for iOS 8 users.

iOS 8 was announced earlier this year and will become available for download on September 17 (developers got the GM version yesterday). With it, it will bring support for third party keyboards, which means it’s all systems go for a SwiftKey Keyboard for the iPhone. SwiftKey confirmed plans to launch SwiftKey Keyboard with iOS 8 (it previously only had the SwiftKey Note toolbar for iOS) earlier this year. Speaking via blog post today, the company talked a bit more about what iPhone users can expect from the application.

Not surprisingly, SwiftKey Keyboard will bring iPhone users the same smarter auto-correct, next-word prediction, and SwiftKey Flow typing experience that Android users have been enjoying for the last four years. iPhone users will also reap the benefits of SwiftKey Cloud, which learns the kind of language you use through apps like Gmail, Facebook, and Twitter to more accurately predict your next words.

SwiftKey Keyboard for iOS 8 will launch with support for Canadian English and Canadian French as well  US, AUS, and UK English, Portuguese, (PT, BR), French (FR and CA), German, Italian, and Spanish (ES, US, and Latin America).
