PhotoMath will do your homework for you

The internet has certainly made studying and homework a lot easier. Gone are the days of schlepping down to the library to do research with dusty encyclopaedias or firing up the latest edition of Microsoft Encarta. Instead, Wikipedia helps with research for papers, Google Translate helps with French homework, and now PhotoMath will do your math equations for you.

Developed by MicroBlink, PhotoMath is pitched as a study aid (please), and is capable of solving equations using your phone’s camera to scan the problem. It will also show your its work, so you can really absorb the method of how to solve these problems by yourself.

The idea here is that you’ll use this application to scan equations to check if the answer you have come up with is correct. PhotoMath supports arithmetic expressions, fractions and decimals, powers and roots, and simple linear equations. It’s also free.

Right now, PhotoMath is only available for iOS and Windows Phone, but an Android version is coming in 2015.
