Motorola working with Canadian carriers to bring Android Lollipop to existing devices “as quickly as possible”

Motorola has announced that it has begun rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop to U.S.-based Moto X and Moto G users this week, which is impressively fast considering the nascency of the OS. We’ve reached out to Motorola Canada for comment as to when we can see the update north of the border, and the company had this to say:

While we’re not able to share exact dates, Moto X and Moto G will receive upgrades to Android 5.0 Lollipop and we’re working to roll this out as quickly as possible. As always, specific device information is available on our Upgrade Page.

Motorola has committed to upgrading both generations of Moto X and Moto G devices, along with the Moto E, to Lollipop.

Of course, the link provided by Motorola still refers to Lollipop as “in development” rather than finished, which isn’t the best sign. Hopefully the company is saving an update for when they can announce availability.
