SimpleSyrup: App updates for the week ended November 21st, 2014

App updates galore! Every week, developers push out updates to your favourite applications. There’s just too many for us to dedicate an individual post to every app, especially when the updates are often very minor or just to add one specific feature.

This week we saw a complete rebuild of the Pebble for Android application. Dropbox also brought Carousel to the iPad, and Viber launched a new social media feature called Public Chats. What’s more, the revamped version of Foursquare has finally arrived on Windows Phone, along with Duolingo.

iOS

Chrome — Stability improvements.

Facebook Messenger — Advanced camera controls for photos taken within Facebook Messenger

Foursquare — Homescreen update with more streamlined UI.

Evernote —Work chat for collaboration, ability to share notes and notebooks in-app, ability to give view/edit permissions when you share a single note.

Pebble — Bug fixes, stability improvements.

Shazam — iPhone 6 and 6 Plus support

ToDoist — improved layout for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, interactive notifications, Safari Action extension to add browser content to ToDoist.

Viber — Ability to follow conversations via ‘Public Chat’ and various improvements and bug fixes.

Mint —New updates view that offers detailed view of recent changes to your finances and contextually sensitive cards highlighting important changes (fee alerts, recent transactions, budget limits, etc).

Carousel — Optimized for iPad, redesigned UI with less white space.

Snapchat — Ability to send money using Snapcash (via a partnership with Square).

WhatsApp — Support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, bug fixes.

Sago Mini Road Trip — Road trip game new to the Sago mini game suite.

Joe Fresh — New app for shopping at Joe Fresh. Also offers access to sales and promotions.

PC Mobile Financial Banking — Updated for mobile cheque deposit for CDN cheques.

Call of Duty Heroes — Adds survival mode, increase hero level caps, hero tower, easier access to Hero killstreaks, new PvE campaign missions, replays, and more.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 — Sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Windows Phone

Photosynth — Higher resolution capture and improved sticking.

WolframAlpha — Brand new application for Windows Phone

Foursquare — Major redesign with focus on rating and tips, and finding new places.

Viber — New UI, performance improvements.

Android

Microsoft Office Mobile — Dropbox support.

YouTube — Bug fixes, stability improvements.

Google Keep — Ability to share lists with friends, and filter by colour coded notes

Google Play Music — Updated for YouTube Music Key and shows relevant music videos related to your music selection (U.S.-only for now), and ‘Did you mean?’ autocorrect for searches.

PC Financial — Updated for mobile cheque deposit for CDN cheques.

Endomondo — New challenges, Pebble support, amalgamation of Newsfeed and Friends (‘Friends’).

Viber — Ability to follow conversations via ‘Public Chat’ and various improvements and bug fixes.

SwiftKey — Performance increases, support for 12 new languages.

Snapchat — Ability to send money using Snapcash (via a partnership with Square).

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 — Sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s.

BlackBerry

Twitter — New tabs, improved design and navigation.

Blaq — Bug fixes, ability to pull to refresh in search, performance improvements
