Google offering discounts on games, music, books, and movies on Play Store

With the holidays upon us, Google is looking to ease us into this busy period with some nice discounts on the Play Store.

The company has pushed its Holiday Movie Gift section live and is offering numerous movies at a discount and one (right now, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation) for free. The Holiday, Elf, Bad Santa, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, and many more are all discounted to $3.99. Presumably these will change and shift as the days go by, with other movies dropping in price throughout the week.

There’s also an entire section for discounted and free books, games and music, like Kitchen Confidential (down from $9.99 to just $3.36), Great Expectations (free), Rihanna’s We Found Love (free), The Complete Guide to Minecraft (down to $2.34 from $3.08), and a ton of others.

Google is also discounting many games, like Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run, Hitman GO, Deus Ex: The Fall, Leo’s Fortune and more.

Of course, it’s to Google’s benefit to offer great deals and free apps during the holidays. With so many new devices being given as gifts and purchased as part of Black Friday and Boxing Day sales, it wants people on the Play Store and downloading apps, paid or free.
