LG announces webOS 2.0 with 4K streaming

This morning, LG announced a new version of its smart TV platform based on Palm’s legacy OS, dubbed webOS 2.0.

The upgrade will be available on LG’s extensive line of 2015 4K televisions, and the company hopes that the simple-to-use smart TV software will increase its market share beyond the five million already sold.

LG’s version of webOS 2.0 has an improved launcher experience and boot times, and the company has partnered with Rogers and other providers to stream better content for local markets.
