Microsoft announces release of OneDrive API for developers

Microsoft is well on its way to becoming the mobile first, cloud first company Satya Nadella envisioned when he stepped into the role of CEO just over a year ago. The company has made multiple mobile acquisitions and announcements over the last few months, all of them working toward making the Microsoft platform more accessible to everyone.

Speaking via the OneDrive blog, Microsoft’s Ryan Gregg announced the launch of a new OneDrive API that will allow developers to integrate the OneDrive cloud storage service into their applications. This includes the ability to retrieve new changes to files and folders, resumable uploads of files up to 10GB via fragment uploading, and customizable file thumbnail images.

Gregg writes that PicMonkey, PandaDoc, and IFTTT already allow for the editing, saving, and sending of files to OneDrive.
