Huawei Watch leak points to $400+ pricing for Canada

Huawei Watch

If you’re still reeling from the Apple Watch pricing, Huawei might have something that’s a little more up your alley. A fortuitously timed leak has revealed that the watch (which Daniel recently declared to be ‘the best looking Android Wear watch’) will be relatively affordable.

TechnoBuffalo reports that contrary to previous rumours that said the watch could cost as much as $1000, a German retailer has let the cat out of the bag with a listing that puts the watch at a much more wallet-friendly €349 or about $379 USD.

Of course, exchange rates aren’t always so kind, as Canadians are well aware. Right now, for example, that €349 European price tag translates to roughly $468 CAD. That’s not cheap (more expensive than the baseline Apple Watch), so we’re keen to see if Huawei will be adjusting for the exchange or if we can look forward to a direct switch out of currency symbols (wouldn’t that be nice?).

The Huawei Watch features a 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a 400 x 400 resolution for a pixel density of 286ppi. It’s powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth 4.1 and is available in gold, silver, and black.
