Google offering $50 in Google Play credit for select Google Store purchases

Just last week, Google last week surprised us with a brand new Chromebook Pixel. Even more of a surprise was the launch of a brand new Google Store. Google pulled all of its devices from its previous home on the Play Store and plonked it down at a new URL dedicated to selling hardware only.

Now it looks as though the company is eager to promote its new destination for its own-brand phones, tablets, thermostats, and media streaming device. The company is offering a $50 Google Play gift card to anyone that purchases a Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Moto 360, Sony SmartWatch 3, LG G Watch, or Samsung Gear Live.

The terms and conditions appear to be pretty straight forward. You purchase any one of the above devices and Google will email you a code for the Play Store coupon. The deal is only available until March 31st, but you’ll have to apply the credit before April 20th and use it by September 1st, 2015. Of course, this credit is only applicable to Play Store purchases and cannot be used in the Google Store.

They are two separate stores, remember?
