Following the announcement of the One M9 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, HTC promised us a “huge announcement” for sometime in March. The company has kept pretty quiet about what that might be, but there’s been a ton of speculation that says we’ll see a larger version of the flagship One M9.
These rumours have cropped up once more thanks to @Upleaks, who says the phone, codenamed Hima_Ultra, will be marketed as the HTC One M9+ as opposed to the One M9 Plus. Previous leaked information from @Upleaks suggested that the phone would pac a 5.2-inch WQHD display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 20.7MP camera, a 2840mAh battery and a MediaTek MT6795 octa-core chipset.
Late in February, word was that a Snapdragon variant for the USA/EMEA had been cancelled. @Upleaks now says that he was wrong and the device will be headed to EMEA, though he doesn’t mention anything about a North American release. Android Authority says the phone is expected end of Q1 (so end of March), or early in Q2.
For comparison’s sake, the HTC One M9 packs a 5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a Snapdragon 810, a 20.7MP camera in the back, a 13MP camera up front, and a 4MP UltraPixel camera up front.
