HTC One M9+ leaked, specs revealed prior to April 8th launch event

According to leaked images obtained by French website NowhereElse, HTC’s latest flagship phone, the One M9+, will be unveiled at an event in Beijing on April 8.

The website was also able to obtain the phone’s specs, which are as follows:

  • 5.2-inch QHD display (1,440 x 2,560px)
  • MediaTek’s new MT6795T processor
  • PowerVR Rogue G6200 GPU
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 20.7MP rear-facing camera
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • 32GB of onboard storage

Of the specs listed above, the most notable is the M9+’s processor. The octa-core 64-bit MT6795T is MediaTek’s first offering to challenge a high-end Qualcomm processor. In benchmarks reported by Geekbench, the MT6795T was able to beat the Snapdragon 810 in a multi-core test.

Also notable is the phone’s display, which, at least in terms of resolution, is a significant upgrade over the M9’s 1080p display.

HTC One M9+

It appears that the One M9+ shares the same 20.7MP camera sensor as the One M9, but the variant also looks to bring back the second Duo sensor from the One M8.

There’s no word on a North American launch event, but we’ll keep you posted.

Update: Additional confirmation of the HTC One M9+ has been revealed by device leaker UpLeaks as new press renderings have surfaced.
