Send phone numbers from your desktop to Android using Skype’s new Click to Call plugin

Skype

Despite a tough day dealing with a nearly crippling bug to its client, Skype was able to launch a new feature called Click to Call today.

Click to Call is a desktop browser plugin that allows a person to send a phone number they’ve found on the web to their mobile phone. Once the phone number arrives in Skype, it possible to either call the number immediately or save it for later use.

The feature currently only works with the company’s Android app. An additional limitation is that the app needs to be running when it a number is sent over for it to work properly.

According to VentureBeat‘s Emil Protalinski, the feature is expected to arrive on other mobile operating systems soon, though Microsoft didn’t give him an exact date.

Click to Call can be downloaded from Skype’s website.
