Samsung briefly leaks manual for upcoming Galaxy S6 Active

S6 Active Manual

On Wednesday, a hapless Samsung employee, or the company itself, uploaded the instruction manual that will come with the Galaxy S6 Active, a smartphone that has yet to be announced.

Although it’s no longer available, 9to5Google was able to skim through the 108 page manual before it was taken down from Samsung’s website. The manual contained, among other things, a list of the S6 Active’s specifications.

According to 9to5Google, the S6 Active will feature a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7420 Octa-core processor, 32 GB of storage, a 16 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,550mAh battery cell.

In other words, it shares the same internals as the regular Galaxy S6.

Of course, there are still differences between the two phones—the main one being that the Active ditches the touch-sensitive buttons of its more fragile cousin in favour of physical ones. Interestingly, however, they both weigh the same amount, and while the Active ditches the fingerprint sensor, it still has a heart rate monitor on the back. The manual apparently says that the Active will come in two different colours: titanium black, and camouflage white.

We’re still in the dark about availability and an actual release date. We’ll have to wait until Samsung officially announces the phone to learn those details.
