BlackBerry ‘Venice’ slider specs possibly revealed

blackberry

During Mobile World Congress in March, BlackBerry announced plans to launch a dual-curved-display QWERTY keyboard slider. During the press conference, a quick glimpse of a slider was shown off in both white and black, but then quickly put away.

According to N4BB, the slider has an internal codename of “Venice” and will sport a 5.4-inch Quad-HD display, an 18MP rear-camera, 5MP front-facing camera, 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 808 chipset and 3GB RAM.

Rumours late last week revealed the possibility of BlackBerry teaming up with Google to launch a slider running a forked version of Android. Sources from Reuters stated that, “BlackBerry is considering equipping an upcoming smartphone with Google Inc.’s Android software for the first time, an acknowledgement that its revamped line of devices has failed to win mass appeal.”

It’s expected the BlackBerry slider will be available late Q4 2015 or early Q1 2016.
