Bell loses bid to overturn 911 class-action lawsuit (again)

Bell has lost another bid to overturn the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling forcing it to pay millions of dollars to residents in the Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Nunavut for charging them 911 fees when the service is unavailable in the region.

According to the Canadian Press, the Court simply refused to hear Bell’s side on the matter, denying them an appeal.

In January, Bell said it was “very disappointed with the decision” and “we’re considering our options.” It’s still unclear how much compensation Bell will provide to the plaintiffs, but previous reports indicated between $3 million and $5 million.
