Kyocera Mobile DuraForce now available at Telus

After debuting on Bell back in December, the Kyocera Mobile DuraForce is now available at Telus.

This Android 4.4.2-powered smartphone features a 4.5-inch 720p display that is scratch and impact resistant, a Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to an additional 32GB via a microSD slot), a 8 megapixel back-facing camera and a 3100mAh battery that Kyocera says can last up to 21 days on standby.

In addition, the phone is IP68 certified, meaning it is dustproof, waterproof and can be submerged in up to 1.8 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. It’s also MIL-STD-810G certified, protected from things like salt, vibration, radiation and shocks. Of course, as a result of all that extra protection, it’s also bulkier than your average modern smartphone at 200g.

Telus is selling the device for $50 on select two year plans, and for $530 when bought outright.
