Apple announces subscription iPhone upgrade program

At the end of its iPhone presentation, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller announced that Apple is rolling out a new monthly subscription that will allow consumers to keep up with the company’s yearly iPhone upgrade schedule.

Starting in the United States, and coming other countries across the world in the near future, the program will cost $32 USD a month. In exchange, consumers will gain access to each new iPhone as its released. Moreover, iPhones obtained through the program will come unlocked, and will include the company’s extended warranty coverage plan, AppleCare+.

We’ve reached out to Apple to find out when and if the program will come to Canada.
