Latest BlackBerry Priv images show off curved display and slim build

PRIV - official

The BlackBerry Priv, which will officially launch in November, is set to be the Waterloo company’s first Android-powered smartphone.

Although CEO John Chen has been busy showing off the QWERTY slider — like when he made an appearance on BNN and during this week’s Recode’s Code Conference — there are still questions surrounding the device, including how much it will cost.

Chen noted yesterday that the Priv will be priced on the “high-end,” but that the company will “make the phone financially affordable to get, whether that’s by instalments or something else.”

The Priv is expected to have a 5.4-inch QHD LCD screen, a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 18-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and various other BlackBerry enhancements, including BlackBerry Safegaurd.

Until there is a concrete information on items like launch date, pricing and carrier availability, we’ll have to be satisfied with taking in these new images, courtesy of a Reddit user who got his hands on the device at some unspecified conference. They show off the Priv’s slim build, curved display and QWERY keyboard.
