BlackBerry Priv tipped to ship November 16, will cost $950 unlocked

BlackBerry is expected to go live with Priv pre-orders tomorrow, but late last night the company accidentally uploaded all the details to its online store.

The specs and pricing have since been removed, but one of the major points of interest that BlackBerry revealed was the Canadian pricing for the unlocked version of the Priv, which was listed to be $949. This is congruent with what reseller Ingram Micro is also showing. In addition, the shipping date of the Android-powered slider is tipped to start November 16th.

As for specs, BlackBerry lists the Priv as model number STV100-1 and shows it running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, a Qualcomm 8992 with 64 bit Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 5.43-inch 2560 x 1440 display (540 DPI), 18-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that’s capable of shooting 4K videos, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,360mAh non-removable battery with “fast charge enabled” that gives up to 22.5 hours of use.

Again, the pricing of $949 price is for the unlocked model and carriers will sell the Priv at a lower subsidized cost. Rogers confirmed to us yesterday that its strategy will see it available for $399.99 on a 2 year Share Everything plan or $799.99 outright.
