TD Canada Trust adds Facebook Messenger to its customer service repertoire

TD is hiring ethical hackers

As Rogers did earlier in the month, TD Canada Trust has integrated Facebook Messenger into its customer service platform.

Canada’s second-largest financial institution announced today that it now allows customers to seek help from TD employees over Facebook’s messaging platform between 6am and 11pm every day, including weekends. Powered by In the Chat, CSRs are present less for account-related inquiries — TD doesn’t want customers to share account numbers, PINs or transaction details over Messenger — than general questions, such as the closest branch or the latest interest rates on savings accounts (hint: pretty low).

To get started, “like” TD on Facebook and initiate a message (and while you’re at it, like MobileSyrup, too). The rest, as they say, is up to you.
