Wikipedia’s updated iOS app makes it easier than ever to spend hours reading new articles

Wikipedia iOS

Wikipedia, the ultimate online encyclopedia, has just launched the latest version of its iOS app.

Featuring a new design, the app, now on version 5.0, makes it easier than ever to go down the rabbit hole that is Wikipedia. A new focus on random and location relevant articles helps users discover new articles. The app also now supports 3D touch on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Earlier in the day, Wikipedia announced it is developing a crowdsourced speech engine to help visually impaired individuals navigate the online encyclopedia. According to the non-profit, 25 percent of its user base, approximately 125-million users will ultimately benefit from the technology.
