Canada-based UGO Mobile Solutions launches receipt-storing feature

For the first time, Canadians can store and organize receipts on their smartphone using UGO’s app.

To access the feature, UGO users need simply to take a picture of the receipt they wish to save. The information will be automatically scanned and stored, including the date, time, amount, currency and name of the retailer.

Users can also label receipts as business or personal and organize them into custom folders.

“Handling, storing and searching for receipts can be frustrating and time-consuming,” said Alec Morley, the CEO of UGO, in a statement to MobileSyrup. “UGO takes the guesswork out of the process, making it simple and easy for people to securely store receipts and track purchases.”

UGO launched its digital wallet in November 2014. During its initial release, the app was only compatible with TD credit cards and PC Financial MasterCard credit cards. The platform also allowed users to store loyalty cards and transfer funds to another account.

UGO’s receipt feature, supported by Senibill Inc’s digital receipt platform, is now available to iPhone users and will be released to Android and Blackberry users in the coming days.
