Samsung app ‘Good Lock’ lets you modify your lock screen and notifications

Samsung has officially announced Good Lock, an app that gives Galaxy users increased options for customizing their smartphone’s appearance and functionality. The app debuted on the Galaxy Apps store last month for the Galaxy S7, but was only officially acknowledged via blog post today, along with availability for the S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, S6 Active and Note 5.

When installed the app overhauls Samsung’s normal lock screen UI. Users get an app tray that they can pull up from the bottom to quickly launch favourite apps, and an option to place widgets there for apps such as music players or activity trackers.

Good Lock also changes the way users interact with notifications. When notifications pop up on the lock screen, they can categorize them in to different folders and set reminders for later.

On the aesthetic side, Samsung announced that Good Lock gives users added wallpaper options such as the interactive “Popping Colors” option, and offers a feature called “Routine” that allows users to set separate profiles for day and night by customizing the device’s appearance, app tray and lock screen widgets.

Good Lock is currently available to users in the U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia, Singapore and Korea. Samsung promises bi-weekly updates based on user response.
