Google to live stream I/O 2016 in 360-degree virtual reality

Taking a page out of Samsung’s S7 and S7 edge reveal, which featured a brief virtual reality component, Google will broadcast all of its I/O keynote – set to go down on May 18th at 1:00p.m EST – in 360-degree video, indicating as expected, the Mountain View, California-based company will discuss virtual reality.

The 360-degree live stream can be viewed via a virtual reality Google Cardboard headset and also through YouTube’s standard desktop app, allowing viewers to navigate the presentation’s 360-degree view within a browser.

Google is expected to discuss a slew of new products tomorrow, including a new virtual reality headset, Project Tango, Android Auto and perhaps even Google Glass 2.0.
