TD, BMO, Scotiabank and ATB will reportedly add support for Apple Pay tomorrow [Update]

After months of waiting, it looks like Apple Pay will finally make its way to BMO, TD, Scotiabank and Alberta-based ATB, tomorrow, according to a report published by the Toronto Star.

TD’s, BMO’s, Scotiabank’s and ATB’s impending support for Apple Pay has been expected to launch for the last few weeks, with June 1st set as a tentative launch date, which includes support for in-app purchases facilitated through credit cards. If the Toronto Star’s latest report is accurate, it looks like Apple Pay is now available through all of Canadians big five banks.

Apple Pay is only compatible with Apple’s more recent devices, including the iPhone 6, 6s, as well as the company’s various versions of the Apple Watch. The mobile payment platform launched in the U.S. in the fall of 2014 and then Canada in November, but at a limited number of financial institutions. Tomorrow marks the mobile payment solution’s widespread release.

Apple Pay is currently supported in Canada by American Express, Canadian Tire, CIBC and RBC.

We’ll be on top of Apple Pay’s continued Canadian bank launch as it goes down tomorrow.
