Update 07/17/16 4:00 p.m.: It looks like Pokémon Go’s servers are up again in Canada.

Update 07/17/16 4:00 p.m.: Pokémon Go has officially launched in Canada on iOS and Android causing the game’s servers to go down once again.

Update 07/16/16 12:30 p.m.: It looks like Pokemon Go’s sever outage was relatively short-lived and the game’s servers are back online again, though they’re still unstable.

Wildly popular augmented reality mobile game Pokémon Go is currently down and players around the world are unable to log into the game’s servers.

It’s unclear if the server outage is a result of the game recently launching in 26 new regions, or if there is truth to recent rumours regarding a DDOS attack orchestrated by a group of nefarious individuals who don’t like it when people have fun.

Niantic has yet to release a statement regarding the outage, though there are numerous reports of players being unable to access the game in Canada as well as the rest of the world.

“Pokémon Go is available in twenty-six new countries. As of tonight, Trainers living in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland are able to download Pokémon Go from the Play Store or App Store,” writes Niantic in its most recent public communication about the game. It’s possible that Pokemon Go’s recent Europe rollout has crashed the game’s servers. Earlier this week Niantic briefly halted Pokemon Go’s global rollout to fix server issues.

It’s unclear when Pokémon Go will officially launch in Canada, though there are ways to get the game right now for iOS and Android.
