Renders of Google’s new Android Wear smartwatches, codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish, first debuted in early July 2016 courtesy of Android Police, showing the design and general dimensions but revealing little else.
Now, eminent mobile tipster Evan Blass has tweeted out that Android Wear enthusiasts should expect the smartwatches in Q1 of 2017 and notes that the devices will be released alongside the long-awaited 2.0 version of Android Wear, the company’s wearable OS.

Apart from the appearance of the device, Android Police has also reported that Angelfish will have an onboard GPS, a heart rate sensor and LTE connectivity allowing it to run standalone apps. Meanwhile, Swordfish, the smaller device, won’t have LTE or GPS.
As of yet, there has been no indication as to what brand the watches will fall under — whether it be Nexus, Pixel or something else altogether.
