Get your sleep cycle on track with Pillow [App of the Week]

For many people, getting a good night’s sleep is a seemingly unattainable goal.

If you’re among the large demographic of people constantly seeking more Zs, or even if you just think you can improve on your sleep quality, then the iOS app Pillow caters directly to you.

Pillow is a sleep tracker for the iPhone and Apple Watch. Either wear the watch to bed or place your handset on the bed next to you, and over the course of an evening the app monitors your movements and sounds. When you wake up, the app produces a detailed chart of the night broken down into periods of wakefulness, deep sleep, REM sleep and light sleep. It also shows your exact length of sleep and the estimated quality. You’re further able to add in your mood and other notes.

Through the data it has gathered, the app is able to figure out your ideal wake-up time and provides you with average sleep times and quality levels. What’s more, those sleep talkers out there can find out just what exactly they’ve been muttering about, as Pillow records automatically when it detects a sound.

Pillow is easily integrated with Apple’s Health app, too, which adds more colour to your overall health profile.

If that wasn’t enough, the app also extends its functions to naps, and offers personalized experiments, recommendations and sleep tips.

Download Pillow for free on the App Store.
