Google’s 4K-enabled Chromecast Ultra is now available in Canada for $90

Just a little over a month after it was announced, Google’s new Chromecast Ultra is now available from the Canadian Google Store for $90 CAD in “limited quantities.” The company is also offering free standard delivery.

The new device, which Google says is 1.8 times faster than its predecessor, was announced on October 4th, 2016 and supports 4K, high dynamic range (HDR) and Dolby Vision. In another handy feature add, the Ultra features an ethernet cord and port in the power adapter.

Additionally, the Chromecast Ultra will respond to the Google Assistant through integration with Google Home, the company’s Amazon Alexa competitor which is due to hit the Canadian market some time in 2017 for approximately $170.

The device requires a 4K-compatible HDTV with an HDMI port and a broadband internet connection to stream content in 4K, but will also work on a standard HDTV.
