Oculus’ Quill is the Rift’s answer to the HTC Vive’s Tilt Brush

Oculus has released its answer to the HTC Vive’s Google-developed Tilt Brush, a new app that’s part of the company’s Story Studio called Quill.

The Facebook-owned VR company announced that it’s set to release the app for free on December 6th just in time for the launch of the Oculus’s Touch motion controllers. Touch allows Oculus users to experience room-scale VR tracking similar to what the HTC Vive has been capable of since launch.

Quill lets users create doodles by utilizing sophisticated editing tools, coupled with the ability to layer images via Oculus’ new Touch controllers. Unlike Tilt Brush, Quill adopts a look that feels more like a 3D oil painting, which has the potential to be more visually impactful.

Quill is set to be available on December 6th in the Oculus Home Store.
