Amex Pay launches in Canada for NFC-enabled Android devices

American Express has announced the launch of AmexPay in Canada, allowing customers to pay for purchases with NFC-enabled Android devices running Kitkat 4.4 or higher wherever American Express contactless payments are accepted. The new functionality can be found in the Amex App for active consumer, small business and corporate cards offered in Canada.

“The launch of Amex Pay is another example of our commitment to innovation and providing our cardmembers with more ways to use their cards,” said Suat Alaybeyoglu, vice president of consumer acquisition and management at American Express Canada in a press statement.

“Cardmembers can shop with ease using their mobile devices, while continuing to experience the service they’ve come to expect from American Express.”

The Amex App is available for both iOS and Android here.
