ZTE to let fans name winning Project CSX device

Smartphone manufacturer ZTE has started accepting name ideas for the winner of Project CSX, during which the company asked its customers to submit ideas for what they think will be the next great mobile device. The company announced the winner of Project CSX this past October.

The winner of the contest was an eye-tracking, self-adhesive phone. It’s rumoured that the yet-to-be-named device could mount to walls or other flat surfaces to create a hands-free experience, while eye tracking capabilities will allow for hands-free scrolling.

The winning idea was one of the hundreds of thousands of submissions, and now, ZTE wants its customers to name it.

“We were overcome by consumers’ originality and enthusiasm for the Project CSX ideas and concepts, and we hope to rally them again to bring exceptional creativity and bold ideas for the device’s name. ZTE has always put consumers first, and we’re excited to continue gathering their input on a project that advances the mobile industry,” said Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA, said in a statement.

Submissions begin online today and will continue until December 5. The smartphone manufacturer is looking for original ideas, to be selected from the top five submissions. The winner will receive a small cash prize. ZTE will announce the winner during CEO 2017.
