Could this be a new version of the Moto Z?

It feels like the Moto Z was just released, but if recent leaked images are any indication, the smartphone could be in for a refresh already.

Earlier this month TechDroider published images of a reported forthcoming 2017 iteration of the Moto Z, though some questioned the legitimacy of the photos. Now, however, additional photos of the rumoured device, which seem to depict an early prototype, have leaked. The pair of images have one again appeared online courtesy of TechDroider.

From the somewhat blurry, low-resolution images it’s difficult to tell exactly what the phone is, though it does resemble the Moto Z and Moto Z Play in a number of ways. The magnetic connectivity contacts present on the back of the Z and Z Play aren’t present in these images though, which could mean the phone might be a version of the Z that doesn’t support Moto Mods. It is definitely a Motorola device though given the fact that the company’s “M” logo is prominently present on its rear.

While all this is purely speculation, one thing is for sure, phone manufactures don’t seem to have any intention of slowing down the rate they release new handsets at. Also, it’s important to point out that these leaks come courtesy of an anonymous tipster and there’s no way to verify their validity.
