IBM and Bell Canada partner to offer enterprise apps for iPhone users

IBM has announced a partnership with Bell Canada to bring a suite of enterprise iOS apps to market.

These made-for-business iOS apps leverage Bell’s LTE network and utilize IBM’s analytics resources to retrieve real-time data and insights. These apps will allow workers to exercise informed decision making while in the field.

“In every industry, enterprise mobility is a top priority and considered a critical factor in digital transformation. Our made-for-business apps are changing how individuals, job roles and entire enterprises do work,” said Mahmoud Naghshineh, general manager of Apple partnerships at IBM, in a statement.

First responders provide a good example, as they can use the GPS software to remotely tap into data regarding the location of the incident relative to other responders to better manage the emergency. In addition, buyers and planners in the retail space can use remote data to manage inventory at different locations.

These apps will supposedly stretch across multiple industries including energy and utilities, government, manufacturing and retail.
