Revlon launches Snapchat makeup lens for Valentine’s Day

Snapchat and makeup company Revlon are joining in on the Valentine’s Day fun with a Canada-wide sponsored lens that allows users to try out colourful lipstick and features accompanying V-Day themed imagery.

The lens is accompanied by a Valentine’s themed geofilter overlay to appear over Cineplex movie theatres across Canada. Below are examples of both the lens (left) and geofilter (right).

In addition, Snapchat is running full-screen video ads in Snapchat that show users lipstick tutorials with Revlon products.

Revlon is not the first company to let Snapchat users apply augmented reality makeup. L’Oreal offered eyeliner, mascara, foundation, blush and lip colour through a Snapchat lens in June 2016, and received significant press from beauty and fashion publications.
