Telna-KnowRoaming has announced that Michael A. Neuman has been named executive chair of its telecom business.

Neuman’s role at Telna-KnowRoaming will be to help the company become the global standard for SIM free’ Multi-IMSI wireless networks, which is a platform to provide SIM-free connectivity for any wireless device to every wireless network, worldwide.

Neuman has over 30 years of telecom and broadcasting experience and has held president or CEO positions at several BCE assets.

After starting his telecom career in 1984, Neuman went on to lead Bell ExpressVue, which distributed Canada’s first national broadcast of High Definition programming, the country’s first satellite internet service and the then-largest hockey programming line-up in the country, NHL Centre Ice.

In 2001, Neuman rejoined BCE, taking on the role of president of Teleglobe, the company’s European subsidiary. He later assumed leadership of Bell Mobility and helped facilitate the Virgin Mobile deal that relaunched the brand as Virgin Mobile Canada in 2005.

“I am excited to be joining a hyper-innovative company that is delivering mobile SIMs as software with a preloaded app that integrates with Qualcomm or Mediatek baseband in any wireless device enabling the distribution of billions of SIMs at no cost, creating a new revenue opportunity for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) by providing connectivity for their smartphones, tablets, watches and IOT or M2M devices,” said Neuman in a statement sent to MobileSyrup.
