SyrupCast Podcast Ep. 121: Google Home comes home to Canada

Google I/O 2017

This week on the SyrupCast, Igor Bonifacic, Patrick O’Rourke, Rose Behar and Brad Shankar discuss the ins and outs of this year’s Google I/O.

Google I/O’s keynote included major announcements this year, especially for Canadians, with the Google Home finally becoming available north of the border. Along with hardware announcements came updates to Android O, Google’s next-gen mobile operating system. We also learned that Android Pay is finally set to officially launch in Canada at some point in the near future.

Shoutouts

Brad’s shoutout goes to Injustice 2. Rose gives a nod to Tecla, a company helping differently-abled people use touchscreen devices. Patrick, per usual, gives a shoutout to the new and funky coloured Nintendo Switch controllers. Finally, Igor pays homage to the late, great Chris Cornell, who passed away this week.
